“Great to win the lottery. Not sure yet how the monies will be spent but probably towards a holiday with children and grandchildren. We have holidayed on the Islands a number of times and hope to do so in the future.

I've attached three pictures from our last visit. One in the community garden, a lovely restful location, one of the beautiful heathers on the ancient ruins and the other on one of the outlying islands (Scilly Tropics?)”

Lovely picture and note from our winner Ann:

Thank you very much. That is wonderful news and we will certainly be spending it on another visit to St Mary’s in the summer. I first visited the Isles of Scilly in 1974 and have had many many lovely holidays there since. This is a photo of me in Tresco Abbey gardens on a lovely day last August.

Monday 26th November 2018 - Congratulations to Kevin in Plymouth who is our lucky winner today!

“This is the first time that I have won the Scilly Lottery.

I can tell you straight away that I will be spending the money towards my visit back to Scilly next year at the start of the season.

Unfortunately due to circumstances I had to cancel our visit this September just gone due to my Mother passing away 2 days before we were due back to the islands. Fortunately earlier in the year (March and April)  my Mum had managed to fulfil and archive 50 years of going to Scilly’s. That’s a minimum of 4 weeks every year without fail, and the last two decades we have been fortunate in being able to extend  our break’s to an average of 8 weeks every year.  So as you can imagine we have made very good friends over the years and in fact we think of the Scilly’s more as home.”

“This photo of my Mum with her walker was taken last year at the end of May (bank Holiday weekend) on the fun day on the green, where we just popped over for the day after spending 6 1/2 weeks a few weeks before."

“This is from this year’s holiday taken back in March / April this year. The image is taken directly opposite island carriers overlooking Porthmellon Beach with Tresco and Bryer in the background.”
