Radio Scilly airs hourly local news from the islands from 7am until 12 Noon weekdays. Our local Scilly news bulletins follow the national news from Sky News. Radio Scilly news lasts between 5 and 7 minutes depending on the time of year and what is going on! We're the only devoted daily source of Scilly News and information and the only radio station on the islands. You cannot receive the mainland commercial stations in most of Scilly, so when you want local news, we ARE the radio.

We are a 1 person newsroom, (Keri basically) so we cannot produce regular bulletins at the weekend but we always react to urgent items. Marian Bennett helps us with Bryher coverage, Toby Tobin-Dougan keeps us in touch with St Martin's news and Lydia Birch covers Tresco features for us.

Keri spends the afternoon making calls to agencies and organisations that cover Scilly to find out what is going on. He also visits a number of key news contacts in Hughtown each day to uncover stories and he goes to many Council and community meetings to bring you the news.

We also get a lot of Radio Scilly listener tip-offs and calls. You can let us know about anything you feel we should be investigating or reporting on 423263. Or just leave a note under our studio door! We don't need to know who you are if you a "whistleblower" but it helps and we will protect your anonymity if you wish.
