A Scillonian family that have run a farm on St Martin’s for almost 70 years have been granted ‘approval in principle’ to establish the first island-based distillery. A group of volunteers who are cleaning Scilly’s hard-to-reach coastline and beaches have described the amount of plastic they have found as "truly heartbreaking". The public consultation for the pre-submission version of the Council's Draft Local Plan is now open.

A group of volunteers arrived on the islands yesterday to help clean up some of Scilly’s hard to reach coastline and beaches. The Isles of Scilly branch of the Royal British Legion held a memorial service today for victims sunk by a Nazi U-Boat 75 years ago. An ITV news crew are on the islands. Presenter Grace Pascoe and cameraman Kevin Blanks from ITV West Country have filmed various slots for the show since their arrival on Monday.

Penzance Heliport has secured nearly 1.9 million pounds from the European Regional Development Fund. Five Islands Academy is advertising for a Crossing Patrol Officer following concern about the safety of children travelling to and from Carn Gwaval. The Mali Rose, the Isles of Scilly Steamship Companies freight vessel attempted to make a crossing to the islands yesterday evening in a sea trial capacity but had to turn back to Penzance. A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Friday, with potential for very strong winds.
