The Isles of Scilly's MP has suggested that the success of the Brexit Party in the European elections was in a part a protest vote. Derek Thomas, the Conservative MP for the St Ives constituency, said that tomorrow’s by-election in Peterborough will be the real test of what people may do in a general election. 

More than 30 islanders will take part in the main ÖTILLÖ Swimrun events this weekend. This year will see the usual World Championships Qualifying race and Sprint, as well as a new Experience race for those completely new to the sport or not ready to compete over bigger distances. 

The Isles of Scilly’s golfers triumphed in their recent competition against a mainland club. On Saturday June 1st, Cape Cornwall Golf Club visited Scilly for the April Cottage Cup, which was presented to the islands in 1997 by Bernie House to establish a regular challenge between the two clubs.
