The chairman of the Cornish Pilot Gig Association has suggested that the World Pilot Gig Championships will become a more elite competition in the future.

Isles of Scilly Pharmacy and Medical Services have said they want to ”reinforce and reiterate” advice after fresh cases of diarrhoea and vomiting have been reported on the islands. 

To help stop the spread of the sickness the Islands pharmacy and Medical Services have said that anyone affected should not return to work, school or clubs for 48 hours after the symptoms have passed, to minimise exposing other members of the public.

The Isles of Scilly’s 2018 official Visitor Survey has revealed a growing desire among holidaymakers to book online.

28% of respondents booked their holiday to Scilly on the internet but 50% said they would have preferred to do so had the option been available. Meanwhile, 72% suggested that online availability was very important.
