Preparations for the transfer of the Isles of Scilly's water and sewerage provision to South West Water have been described as "well advanced". Pennon Group Plc, which owns South West Water, provided the update in its newly-published end of year financial results.

Double Olympic rowing champion Helen Glover has said she and her family were "blown away" by the islands on their recent visit. Helen, who is originally from Penzance, is the new ambassador for Isles of Scilly Travel, taking over from last year's patron Ray Mears. 

Islanders and visitors have been invited to join the Great Global Greyhound Walk next weekend. The annual dog-walking event brings together greyhounds, lurchers, other sighthounds and their owners to raise awareness of the breeds and show the public what wonderful pets they make.
