The polls have opened for islanders to vote in the European and Council elections. The Town Hall is open until 10pm for St Mary's residents to cast their votes for both elections.

The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust has said it is “incredibly grateful” for the support of residents and visitors after the recent damage to a noticeboard at the quay. Communications officer Nikki Banfield said it was likely that the board was damaged intentionally, describing it as “sad” that there is a small element of the community determined to display what she called unnecessary and irresponsible behaviours.

Pupils at Five Islands Academy are to decorate the new fencing at the site of the old secondary school. Students have been tasked with creating a porthole design that reflects their vision of Scilly.
