The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group welcomed its 4 and a half millionth ferry passenger aboard the Scillonian III yesterday.

Crime author Kate Rhodes has described the inaugural Creative Scilly Festival as "absolutely brilliant". Kate, who wrote thrillers Hell Bay and Ruin Beach, was one of a host of artists, musicians and writers on the islands for the 10-day festival, which finishes tonight.

A team of kayakers from the UK’s leading marine charity have spent the last four days on Scilly for the sixth annual Sea Kayak Challenge. The Marine Conservation Society event gives up to 12 people the chance to experience the islands from the unique perspective of a kayak while raising money for the charity.
