The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group has announced the Gry Maritha will return to scheduled service on Monday, May 13th.

It was also revealed in a statement from the group that Friday, May 10th’s sailing of the Mali Rose has been cancelled to make way for the Gry Maritha to carry out her required sea trials to ensure she is "fully operational after extensive work".

A record 170 gigs are expected to take part in the 30th annual World Pilot Gig Championships this weekend. The figure is up 20 on last year's total, itself a record for the event. 

The Cornish Pilot Gig Association’s Pulling Together The Past heritage project will be coming over to the islands and the team behind the project will be putting on a very special display entitled 30 years of Blood, Sweat and Beers at the Town Hall on St Mary’s. 

The Bishop & Wolf will hopefully open this afternoon, according to Manager Neil Moorton.
