The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, RSPB, is calling on members of the public to help them save one of Scilly’s most iconic animals. Puffins are in serious trouble, according to the organisation with their numbers plummeting in former strongholds in the UK and Europe.

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company’s inter islands freight vessel the Lyonesse Lady will be out of service for approximately 10 days, from this coming Monday the  20th May due to technical faults. In a statement the Company said they’re now “looking to immediately resolve” the matter.

Islands' Partnership has urged islanders involved in food, drink or local produce to get involved in the month-long programme of events.
