All Council Tax properties should receive more blue household recycling sacks this week.

There has been an overall increase in recycling on the Isles of Scilly over the last 4 years. Diversion rates, the percentage of waste that has been diverted from landfill or incineration and either recycled or reused hit 30% for spring 2019 according to the Council of the Isles of Scilly‚Äôs Reduce & Recycle programme. 

The eighth Isles of Scilly One Act Play Festival was held before a packed audience on Sunday. Mainland adjudicator Paul Dodgson said all four scripts were "page turners" and it was difficult to choose between them.

A prominent musician has praised the Five Islands Academy for sending pupils to the annual Cornwall Music Festival. Liz Childs, a woodwind player and teacher who adjudicates at competitions around the world, said she had never before seen a school take their pupils away for a few days to participate in a music festival.
