The Council of the Isles of Scilly has appointed a childcare provider to run the new nursery facility at Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre.

Two Scilly friends running in the London Marathon have said they are excited but extremely nervous ahead of Sunday’s race. 

Leanne Gibbons and Bec Campion entered the ballot after becoming inspired watching their friends run last year but only Leanne was given a spot.

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for tonight and tomorrow, with potential for strong winds and rain. The alert applies to the period from 9pm this evening until 3pm on Saturday, with gusts of between 60 and 70mph predicted.
