It's been announced that Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will visit the Isles of Scilly on Tuesday 17th July 2018.

According to princeofwales.gov.uk Their Royal Highnesses will formally open the island's newly improved quayside, visit the new harbour-side restaurant, On The Quay, tour a local produce market and meet local community groups, including the Sailing Club on St Mary's.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will also visit St Martins, where Their Royal Highnesses will tour local businesses.

His Royal Highness will attend a virtual 'Smart Islands' meeting at the Island Hall about the Smart Islands Partnership Programme, which aims to deliver smart solutions to energy, waste, water and sewerage services on the Isles of Scilly and beyond.

Radio Scilly contacted Clarence House for further information relating to the visit. No further information is available at this time as plans and preparations for their visit to Scilly are ongoing.
