Lady Mary Wilson Passes Away At The Age Of 102

Lady Mary Wilson, the widow of former Prime Minister Harold Wilson has died at the age of 102.

Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn lead the tributes on Twitter and posted: “Sad to hear of the death of Mary Wilson. A wonderful poet and a huge support in Harold’s General Election victories. I send my condolences to her family and friends.”

Lady Wilson and the former Prime Minister owned a small bungalow on St Mary’s and spent a great deal of time on the islands. 

The former Prime Minister is buried in Old Town Cemetery on St Mary’s. It’s believed there are plans for a memorial service on Scilly.
