The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group have released a statement after the Council of the Isles of Scilly suspended the launch of the company's new helicopter service.
Island Helicopters was scheduled to launch and carry out its first scheduled flights on Monday (21st May) but on Friday (18th May) the Council of the Isles of Scilly announced the service would be suspended with immediate effect.
The council said the reason behind the suspension was to ensure compliance with the Conservation of Species and Habitats Regulations act of 2017.
A spokesman for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, said: “We do not share the Council’s view and despite the very disappointing late notice, we are gathering information to assist the Council in their decision making process to enable us to fly on Monday.
"We will issue a further statement in due course.”
