The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company have changed the dates for planned scheduled maintenance work on the Gry Maritha and Lyonesse Lady.

In a statement on the planned scheduled maintenance the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company said: "Following on from our last maintenance communication dated, 22nd January, we have listened to your feedback and have re-evaluated the schedule of works.

To ensure that the maintenance on the Gry Maritha will be carried out in a reduced timeframe, between Saturday 14th – Sunday 22nd April, we are investing in additional staff at Penzance Dry Dock to minimise the freight disruption to the islands.

The Gry Maritha will be out of service for scheduled maintenance and annual surveys on Saturday 14th April after her return from the islands. We plan to resume service on Monday 23rdApril. The reviewed schedule and maintenance plan has allowed us to reduce the Gry Maritha’s downtime from six sailings to three.

During this time, the Scillonian III will ship all light goods and essential perishables. We ask for your help by avoiding bulky freight during this time."

With regards to the maintenance on the Lyonesse Lady the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company stated: "The Lyonesse Lady will be taken out of service during the same period for essential maintenance from Sunday 15th April returning to service on Monday 23rd April.

During this time the Swift Lady will continue to supply the Off-Islands with light goods and essential perishables.

If you have a need to ship large or heavy goods during the maintenance period, we will do our best to assist you either prior to or after the Lyonesse Lady and Gry Maritha is out of service. We recommend that you call our offices as soon as possible to discuss the best options for your needs and to make a booking."

For all freight enquiries please contact Penzance freight office on 01736 334236 or the St. Mary’s office on 01720 424230.
