MP Visits Scilly For First Time Since Election

MP Derek Thomas is hoping to be back in Scilly and visit the off Islands and hold further surgeries in September.

MP Derek Thomas is hoping to be back in Scilly and visit the off Islands and hold further surgeries in September.

Derek Thomas the MP for the St Ives Constituency which includes the Isles of Scilly visited the islands for the first time since last month's General Election this week.

In the election Derek beat Liberal Democrat Candidate and former MP Andrew George by just 312 votes to regain his seat in what was closely fought contest. 

Derek held a surgery for residents on the islands yesterday at the parish church pavilion on St Mary's and is hoping to return to Scilly to hold surgeries on the off islands in September.

He also meet with the newly elected Chairman of the Isles of Scilly Council Ted Moulson as well as  other members of council about a whole host of topics including transport, health and social care as well the Five Islands School, all of which he discussed with Will in further detail.
