Former Cornish Pirates academy player Jack Nowell has been selected in Lions Coach Warren Gatland's 41 man squad ahead of their summer tour of New Zealand.
Originally from Newlyn in Cornwall, Jack now applies his trade for the Exeter Chiefs and will join up with the rest of the squad after the domestic season finishes.
Jack was also a Truro and Penwith College student and College rugby academy graduate.
Martin Tucker, Director at Penwith College said: “We are delighted for Jack and his family to hear that he has been selected as part of the Lions squad to tour New Zealand in the Summer. It is thoroughly deserved. Jack is a great ambassador of the sport and an inspiration to young rugby players. This really is a great moment for everyone who is involved in his successful rugby career.”
The Lions will take on the All Blacks in 3 test matches during their 10 match tour of New Zealand which gets underway on Saturday June 3rd against a New Zealand Provincial Barbarians side.
