Tresco Estate are auctioning a luxury holiday on the island in aid of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust.
The prize on offer is a week’s stay in Rowesfield Cottage on Tresco from Friday 1st September 2017 for 7 nights.
Tom Matthews, Head of Marketing from Tresco Estate said: “We always support a lot of charities both local, national and international.”
Tom later added: “The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust is a bit of a different one because it's a very small, very independent locally run charity. It’s completely run from the islands, their completely autonomous and they do so much important work for the islands.”
The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust is a local, independent charity that looks after more than 60% of the islands, restoring and maintaining habitats for the benefit of people and wildlife on Scilly.
In all, they look after just under 2,000 hectares, which is equivalent 1,333 football pitches of the islands marine and terrestrial habitats. Their work ranges from uncovering and maintaining archaeological sites to grazing the open spaces of the islands to keep vegetation under control.
They organise beach cleans and educational activities to encourage people to care for these beautiful islands and work hard to keep the network of paths across the islands clear and accessible.
Rowesfield Cottage, which sleeps up to 6 people is a traditional, granite cottage and is located in a peaceful, rural location on Tresco’s eastern fringe.
The Cottage is also just a few minutes stroll from Pentle Bay and the bird hides that overlook Great Pool and also has views across the fields and the sea towards the Eastern Isles.
The 7 night self catering holiday will include complimentary bike hire, access to the Tresco Island Spa facilities and the Tresco Abbey Garden and a private guided wildlife walk with an Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust Ranger.
The auction will close at 23:59 on 31st May 2017 and the current highest bid is at £1,234.
