It's was another loss for the Cornish Pirates in what was a closely fought contest at the Mennaye Field on Sunday against Nottingham in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Despite the loss, a late rally from the Pirates ensured they picked up 2 valuable bonus points.

Things I didn't get off to a good start for the Cornishmen with Nottingham taking full advantage of an early sin-bin and getting the first points on the board. Once the Pirates had XV men on the field they started to make some inroads.

However Discipline would prove costly pirates once again with Nottingham making the most of the extra man to make it 10-22 at half time.

After a good start to the second half from the Pirates, Nottingham hit back with a converted try. There was a good period of the second half where neither team added to the scoreline before a final flurry from the Pirates ended things on a positive note and with 2 bonus points.
