The 92 foot vessel visited the islands last week as part of the 'Turn To Starboard' charity’s Round Britain Challenge 2016, a gruelling 2000 miles voyage around the coast of Britain.
The charity, founded by former RAF squadron leader Shaun Pascoe uses sailing and sail training to support Armed Forces personnel affected by military operations and their families.
Shaun Said “The aim of the Round Britain Challenge is to help participants re-engage, reintegrate and gain new skills. Our incredible crew has overcome significant challenges along the route and has shown resilience in every situation. Many have gained valuable sailing miles as part of their training for Yachtmaster qualifications, whereas others set themselves a personal challenge as they battle with their own issues after Service life. We are looking forward to arriving back home in Falmouth and to a well earned rest!”
The Spirit of Falmouth will be returning to Scilly for the Inaugural Islands’ Regatta which takes place from Friday the 26th August until Monday the 29th August.
