Radio Scilly is proud to be the broadcast station of the first annual IOS Business Awards, made possible by the support of Coodes Solicitors and World Wide Financial Planning. 

The Annual event aims to recognise the people who make a difference to our islands' economy. We know that on our islands, unlike the mainland, nearly everyone plays an important role in the economy. We aim to recognise both Managers and Staff, owners and part time workers for the contribution they make to life in our vibrant community. Each month we will have a theme to the awards. Islanders will be encouraged to nominate and then vote in weekly categories that relate to the Monthly theme. Radio Scilly will announce the weekly category each Monday and once at least two nominations are made in each category, listeners will be able to vote for the most deserving nominee on the website, www.radioscilly.com. 

There will be regular voting updates on air and Radio Scilly will read out the emails and letters of support to offer examples on how individuals here can really make a difference. At the end of the month, the four weekly winners will compete for the Monthly award. At the end of the year, 12 Monthly finalists will be invited to an awards night at The Atlantic Hotel on April 5th 2010 with Guest Speaker Malcolm Bell of South West Tourism. The overall winner will receive an islands made "trophy" to keep.
